So back in 2009 my brother ran the London Marathon for VICTA (Visually Impaired Children Taking Action), here we are six years later and he has decided to take the challenge of running the marathon again as well as raising money for such a worthy cause.
VICTA provide grants for much needed learning tools such as laptops, enlargement/speech software and Braillers. They also offer activities that allow visually impaired children and young people to make friends and learn how to live independently. VICTA also runs family activities which also include parental workshops that provide help and advice to parents.
Conrad’s target was to raise £1500 for the charity so to kick start the fundraising Conrad decided to host a chocolate bingo on Saturday 30th January at a local village hall. The whole family mucked in and it was hard work but with almost 120 guests the bingo was a huge success!
Conrad is still fundraising so if you’d like to keep up with his progress or even kindly donate his website is : http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=ConradRuns
