I’m so excited to review Kylie Cosmetics new eyeshadow palette Blue Honey. Kylie has gone back to her original design for this eyeshadow palette but unfortunately this palette doesn’t include a mirror. Blue Honey retails for $38 and includes 9 pressed powder eyeshadows that are perfect for this season.
The shades are so pretty and I’m living for this palette 😍. I love the mixture of shades in this palette and the four shimmer shades are to die for.
Here are the 9 shades in the palette:
- Raw- a matte creamy beige
- Buzz Off- a metallic champagne taupe
- Sweet Like Honey- a soft warm orange
- Bumble- a metallic warm yellow gold
- Blue Honey- a matte deep sea foam green
- Royal Jelly- a metallic teal blue with a gold duo-chrome
- Busy Bee- a Matt warm terracotta
- Sweet Thing- a metallic warm terracotta
- Honey Moon- a matte warm chocolate
Before I show you my swatch I have a quick disclaimer I didn’t apply any primer on my arm as I wanted to see how the product really performed without the help of a primer. Anyway here is my swatch:
First off I love the shimmer shades and I know I’ve said this in the past but Kylie really has nailed the formula. I think the matte shades are super cute colours but I still feel like there is room for improvement with these shades. I found Blue Honey wasn’t overly pigmented and as you can see it looks quite patchy.
Overall I would defiantly recommend this palette as it’s a nice contrast from her previous palettes and I love the range of shades. I love all the shades in the palette except the shade Blue Honey but the rest are sooo pretty!
I’m so happy I received my Kylie Cosmetics order so quickly! It only took a week and a half I think that’s record timing considering I’ve had to wait a month most times 😫.
I actually got other items in my Kylie order but I want to focus on one item at a time as I feel each item deserves a full review :).
Anyway enough of my babbling 😂😂, I managed to get the Naughty Palette on offer for $26.40 instead of the usual price of $40 which is so good! I think it pays you to wait a while to purchase Kylie’s palettes as she reduces them quite often now!
I done a review quite a while ago on the Nice palette and I didn’t really like it to be honest as the shades were quite patchy.
First off I felt the shades looked quite similar to the Nice palette but once I swatched them they were so much better 😍.
I’m so shook about pigment from these shades even the matte ones are so intense 😱. Unlike the Nice palette the matte shades were so chalky and to be honest crap!
I think Kylie has really nailed the formula for her shimmer shades as they are so creamy and have the most insane amount of pigment.
Overall this palette is defiantly one to buy as it has a nice range of shades and there are some lush transition colours too! I would defiantly avoid purchasing the Nice palette as this Naughty palette is so much better I’m so glad I got it :).
So a few days ago Benefit dropped a brand new mascara and the beauty community went crazy for it 😍. From what I’ve gathered Benefit have been working on this new beauty for a couple of years as they wanted to create the perfect formula 💜. BadGal Bang can be purchased from Debenhams or Boots or even on Benefit’s website retailing at £21.50.
The mascara is a really nice size and I like the shape of the wand as the smaller end is great for reaching the inner corner eyelashes!
Here are my before and after photos after using BadGal Bang:
As you can see the results are so dramatic, this was only one layer of mascara too. I love love love how my eyelashes look, I can’t believe how long they look just imagine the result after applying more layers 😍.
I love the formula for the mascara and I appreciate it doesn’t have an icky smell too. So after applying more layers I decided to put BadGal Bang to the test by wearing it all day as the product claims to be smudge proof for up to 36 hours!
So I took this photo roughly 8 hours after applying the mascara and by this time with other brands I’ve used in the past I start to get smudges or mascara under my eyes or it starts to dry off. But I can safely say that BadGal Bang hasn’t dried off or even smudged I’m so amazed 😍.
I love how long my eyelashes look and it honestly feels like I’m wearing false eyelashes. I really can’t recommend this mascara enough and i think it’s a definite must have in anyone’s makeup bag!
My sister was clearing out her makeup drawer the other day and she gave me a liquid lipstick from the Ofra x Nikki Tutorials collaboration. I’ve never owned or tried anything from Ofra so I was super excited to review the lipstick.
The shade Spell can be purchased from Beauty Bay for £11 which isn’t too bad of a price as it’s a nice size.
Spell is a neon coral shade and it’s very vibrant! Here is my swatch:
First off I like the shade as i think it complements my skin-tone and I can totally see myself wearing this in the summer. However I don’t like the formula as it’s meant to be long wear and I’m not sure if that means it’s meant to be matte but it really isn’t long wear at all! I can’t stand the smell of Spell as it’s a really sickly sweet vanilla and I just found it to be too much.
However I can’t knock the pigment of the lipstick as I found it applied really well and wasn’t patchy at all.
Overall I’m on the fence whether I would really recommend this lipstick as it has some positives but also quite a few negatives too. I’m half tempted to try out another lipstick from Ofra to see if I have the same issues as this is lipstick from a collaboration so it’s not solely Ofra’s.
Yesterday I popped into my local Superdrug in the hope to find a cheaper brand of liquid highlighters that could possibly be a dupe for the Iconic London highlighters.
I’m aware the Makeup Revolution liquid highlighters have been out for a while now but hey it’s never too late to try something new right :)?
Each liquid higher retails for £6 and when I was in Superdrug there was only 10 shades too choose from so I presuming that’s all there is in this range (by all means correct me if I’m wrong 🤷🏻♀️).
I only picked up two shades which were Liquid Champagne & Unicorn Elixir.
I picked Liquid Champagne up because I felt it looked like the best shade that would go well with mixing into my foundation. I only picked up the Unicorn Elixir as the whole holographic trend is huge right now and it looked like a pretty fun highlighter to add to my collection :).
Here are my swatches (one with and one without flash):
As you can see both shades have a crazy amount of pigment 😍. I love Liquid Champagne as it’s a really nice light gold shade and I can’t wait to mix this into my foundation to create a dewy look!
However, originally I liked the look of the Unicorn Elixir as it looked so pretty, but when I swatched it I found it to be less pigmented then Liquid Champagne and the formula wasn’t very consistent. The formula for the Unicorn Elixir appeared to be quite patchy and really gunky :/.
Overall I do recommend the liquid highlighters from Makeup Revolution as you can pickup five of these for the price of one Iconic liquid highlighter which is insanely cheap.
I think when purchasing these shades always read reviews and look at swatches to determine what shades are good and avoid the ones that aren’t.
So today I got my other lipstick from Kylie Cosmetics silver series and now I think this could be a serious contender for Charlotte Raspberry (type it in my search box to see the post as for some reason I can’t link it up 🙄🤔).
I’m not going to go into too much detail about the lipstick as I already own one from this collection and my full impression of the creme lipstick can be seen on https://seldane.wordpress.com/2018/01/29/💗👄charlotte-raspberry👄💗/
Anyway, the shade Passion is a cool pink and before I swatched it I knew this would be a firm favourite of mine 😂🙈. Here is my swatch:
As you can see Passion is so pigmented and I adore the shine finish you get once the lipstick is on 😍. I really like this shade and I can see myself wearing this on a daily basis. Like I said earlier I won’t go into too much detail about the lipstick but the formula really is lush 😍.
The creamy formula is so hydrating which allows the lipstick to glide on your lips effortlessly. I can’t wait to pick up some more shades when they come back in stock.
Ok everyone I’ve found my new holy grail hair brush! I’ve been wearing hair extensions for years but for the past two years I’ve been wearing keratin bond extensions and I’ve never found a decent brush.
My sister actually purchased the hair brush for me but it normally retails at £10 and can be purchased online or at Boots.
The brush is very lightweight and allows you to get closer to the roots with the loop shaped bristles. This hair brush is an absolute game changer for anyone who has hair extensions.
I’ve never had a brush like this before and I’m so impressed! The brush left my hair feeling so smooth and it literally eased through all my knots/tangles effortlessly.
My hair extensions prior to using this hair brush felt a bit worse for wear but since using the hair brush I feel like they are more healthier and it didn’t pull on my roots either.
